Hey guys, just thought that I'd share my mediocre rank bar. It's not that good, but it's custom, and I've only been using Photoshop for about a day.

Here it is: Image

What d'ya think?

I think it goes here:

I like it, its not too complicated.. but not boring either.
Nice job for only a day of Photoshop (:

Ok. Hey Sniper, do you know how to get that square text with a black outline kind of look? I hope you know what I'm talking about.

Simply download and install the the font from here, and type it into your thing. Right click (i think), and add a 1 pixel border around it (again, i think.. :/), that should work.
IF the font you were reffering to was the kind in my sig i mean. :D

Yeah, you'll need to mess around with the blending options (outer glow if you want to keep it simple). You'll have to set the thing to max or something (i forgot lol).

Damn you! J/k.

I'll screw around with the blending options, maybe search for a tutorial online. Thanks Sniper.
Thanks for the font also Rena, I'll see how it looks.

No, make the font, rasterize the layer that the font is on, right click on the layer and click "select all" and then go to image>stroke and select 1 pixel and location as outside and whammy, you have outlines.

there's probably a simpler way but the way I curve edges is this:

finish your rankbar (with square edges) and then apply the image onto a new layer. Then create a new layer and put a rounded rectangle of the size you want your rank bar and then create a clipping mask so that your rank bar only appears inside the rounded rectangle and therefore has rounded edges

I just erased some pixels to make it look rounded. Here's another picture that I made for my gaming collaboration channel on you tube:

I was just fooling around with the layer style. I think it turned out pretty nice.
