Alright, so today the Bitey Castle FX course started and over the next 8 weeks(+possibly further if I decide to pay for further instruction) I'll be learning the ins and outs of effects from the one and only:Adam Phillips(creator of The Last of the Dashkin's). This week is about smoke, previous week but I decided to attempt that later down the road.

Decided to animate some a bit different than the assignment and put a little looping animation....best one I've in done in flash tbqh.

http://www.truploader.com/view/511060
This exercise is of just a basic 2 second animation of an electricity strike at 30 fps as specified for the assignment. I tested the perimeter with width the bolts, on the left is a skinnier and the right a thicker. I personally like the thicker since I think it holds a better power rather than the wide one, despite in reality the bigger bolt would be more powerfull, but also less likely to happen in real life, so I liked the small better.

This was another test on a solid object(a circle) I kept with the small bolt size and had one strike without traveling through the object and one that did.
http://www.truploader.com/view/425498
This one was the advanced assignment as for the other two were a beginning assignment. Object was to have one source(one spot)strike three objects. Thus I created a three objects:A set of barrels,a rod and a house. In this specific exercise I simply attempted to do a two and a three prong strike.

All together I think I should added more space between each strike...even though it is only 2 seconds.

How do those legs actually appear? Was he just sitting on the air and deciding to get up?

If the animation was complete, would of been some where along the linet of getting off some kind of vehicle of some sort like a military helicopter or truck with panning up the body to reveal his head through the window of the vehicle.

8 was more focusing on propotions and consistency of the character.

Was brief idea for NATA open round "Discovery Time Travel" Plot:Dinosaurs forced into cave when big comment hits earth. The cave was full of metals of sort and from the induction of the electric force from comment cave turned into teleportation device that sends the dinosaurs to current day NYC. Both dinosaurs pop up through adjacent man holes one blames the other and they discover horrors of modern day pollution and forced back down into manhole where they are able to go through the fading time travel portal. They go through the portal and come back to their time just in time to be killed by a oncoming fire wall which on dinosaur has one last time to blame the other dinosaur for your situation.(now that I finally have written that plot out, expect some kind of project to unfold from this plot :) )
