The HDTV brand VIZIO is starting a PC line soon that is supposedly on par with the Apple Mac series for a more reasonable price tag. Supposed to be geared for the more "minimal" look.

More in Depth info from the Huffington Post

Am the only one who is halfway interested in this/would almost buy one?

I saw this while looking through their site because my family needed a new television. They look really nice, kinda want to see what they come up with.

It looks awesome. But everything about the website and the laptops look identical to Apples. I like it though, probably be looking to buy one for when I go back to school. All the other laptops I've been looking at have been hideous.

Yeah, I was about to say, would it be stupid to have this as a first computer? cause they look like these could be the next thing.

Well, at the moment I'm saving up for a good laptop so I might consider the light+thin laptop. Looks good, if it operaters well like a mac then even better because then it's a mac without itunes thank god, and can work with pivot.

Looks cool, never heard of Visio in NZ, but hey, I never heard of Lenovo until I bought one of their laptops.

A great idea, but Macs still have the one up in terms of programs, a lot of the programs are designed by Mac for Mac which brings maximum utilisation, this is both an advantage and a flaw however.

I agree with you there. I really don't like most styles of laptops besides the Mac.

What you mean without iTunes. You can get iTunes on a Windows PC. It's honestly the best music player imo. Much better than microsofts zune software. And you can run windows programs on a mac with a certain program which I think is called Wine, not the most efficient thing but Pivots not too crazy of a program so it probably wouldn't have any problems.

Yea don't get me wrong there are some very nice laptops out. But 90% of them are ugly and Macs are definitely the sexiest wink)

I mean, with macs iTunes is the default, I don't think you can un install it. I agree with you it is a great music player, but I find that it is quite limited and doesn't allow you to download the songs on to your phone unless it is an iPhone. I like to get songs on to the computer then plug in the phone with a usb and then transfer it onto my phone. With iTunes they don't allow you to do that. (thumbsup)
