I'd be happy to tell you I know quite some people that have been healed from cancer in a hospital and know have happily returned to their lives.

My blender point still stands.

My blender point still stands.

What was your blender point? That they can heal blender wounds? Sure, yes they can. What's the point.

The whole reason you said they can heal blender wounds (Which in a lot of cases you probably couldn't heal them completely. You'd have massive facial scarring.) is so that you could juxtapose that fact with the fact that they can't fix cancer. Which they can (And yes I know that cancer survival rates are low, but it is possible to cure someone who has cancer). So what is the point of just saying that hospitals can fix wounds?

Even if they couldn't fix cancer at all, I still don't understand the juxtaposition. Okay so they can heal blender wounds, but not cancer. So I should stop smoking, and start sticking my face into a blender? Or are you saying that face blending should be legal, and cigarettes be illegal? Because face blending is legal if you do it to yourself. As long as you aren't attempting suicide, because suicide is technically illegal. Oh wait are you saying that putting your face into a blender is better for you than cigarettes? If so that's pretty stupid. Blending your face gives you a 100% chance of massive facial scarring, bleeding, and possible death due to blood loss. Not to mention living the rest of your life with horrible scars and having to explain all the time why the fuck you did that. Cigarettes can possibly affect your health in many ways, but nothing with 100% certainty.

Also technically you can't fit your face into a blender. I guess you'd have to take the glass off and just put your face straight onto the blades.

THATS not the point. the point was you are MORE likely to DIE from SMOKING than BLENDER ATTACKS

That's probably not true also. With slamming your face into a blender it would tear up your entire face, leaving probably very little of it in tact and usable. You'd also be losing so much blood, that you would probably die anyways. Of course it depends on how hard you slam your face into the blender, where on the blades you make contact etc. etc., but thats aside the point.

My point here is that by slamming your face in a blender, you will probably die a LOT sooner than if you were a smoker. I understand what you were trying to say, but to be quite honest, it was a terrible comparison. I know people that are 40's to 50's in age, and they've been smoking since their late teens, and they're still alive. You don't really hear much of people surviving (or even TALKING about) slamming their face in a blender, because it's one of the stupidist fucking things you can do to yourself.

I'm just finding it incredibly lulzy that we went from arguing about cigarettes to arguing about how fun/painful/ it is to stick your face in a fucking blender...

I think that's about it.

I tried using the calming argument already, but she knocked it off by saying that it only calms people because they are addicted. So people are only calmed because they NEED the smoking, or they would grow restless and feel bad.

Well tell her that it makes you looks so matafaking cool. scool)
Peace out.

I sometimes smoke, because we are all gona die anyway.
Fact is that a cigaret shortens your life with 4 minutes and a day at work shortens it with 8 hours.

Whats the point in life? You go around, do stuff and then you die.

So, I'm sick of her always talking about how terribly bad it is, and how bad it is that there's campaigns to make people smoke half as much (cause durr, smoking half as much is still smoking so it's just as bad hurr).
The annoying part is that I don't have any arguments that are FOR smoking. So, can you guys help me? I'd love to be able to put her in her place for once, I am so fucking sick of her moralfaggish health bullshit.
Note, I find smoking disgusting myself, and I don't ever wanna touch a cigarette, I just want to be able to argue against my mom.

You should be arguing against her for being an imposing and intruding nag, instead of coming up with arguments for the beneficial effects of smoking (because really, there aren't any).
what is homo love?

Well, Nakrox, I still think your point is rather dumb. If one smokes for all of his life he's having a huge amount of getting lung cancer, but if that's the point living next to an industry zone or a city with smog should be illegal too. After all, people are hurting nobody but themselves with it (well, perhaps some people that stand by alot inhale it too, but they can choose to stand by too, they can just walk away after warning you don't want it or so...) anyways, they also: pay for it, do this all volunteeringly and basically feel better when they do it, otherwise they wouldn't start it right?

So I don't see why it's bad to keep it legal.

I agree about keeping it legal. You point is invalid though. People are hurting nobody but themselves? What about parents that smoke with their children in the house? In the car with friends or children? When you are under 16 and your parents smoke, there is no walking away...
I don't think any laws should be put in place though, as there is no way that it could be policed effectively. It would also take a WHOLE lot of money through taxes away, which would impact most economies quite significantly.

not too related, but, some are saying that it is ok
but smoking is one of the things that is less about quantity, just 2 cigarettes a day is bad, not too bad bu bad.
Oh yea
did you know most cigarettes lower your life by 14 minutes? wow, that's a lot of minutes...

Cigars are fancy as fuck. Cigarettes are just the female version of cigars, hence the '-ettes'. It's also pretty gay.
