I think it's ridiculous that women have to wear a burka for their religion. I've heard that it's not really the religion that wants the burka (the Islam only want those bandanna things), but that it used to be something for rich men t have their women to cover their face and it kinda got into the Islam that way.
Anyways, although I think it's stupid that women wear those things, I strongly disagree that it should be banned. You can also do identity checks with finger scans or whatever, so this is complete bullshit.

I don't see why it's stupid. It's a choice that's made by women. If they're forced, it's not the religion it's the parent/guardian.

Actually that's one of the popular arguments against the Burka: That it's a symbol of oppression. Obviously it's not contradictory at all that outright banning women from wearing it is a form of oppression in itself.

So yeah, oppress the women for being oppressed!

It shouldn't be banned, people should be allowed to wear what they want. What are the women who wear it going to do now, choose between their religion and the law?

they move to our countries, and practice their religion.. thats good and all you know multi-culturalism.
but here in Perth, Western Australia, muslims are actually taking over, there have been reports and predictions of Perth becoming over run in the next 10 years. We will get treated a lot worse then how we treat them, and this is coming from the nephew of a muslim. not all are bad, but my aunty wears the one the doesnt cover your face. I agree it should be gone.
