Ah, I see your point. Still, I shall clarify a bit more here.

Darren wrote:The line crossover/jumbled mess thing is probably because you're using the brush tool. There is a difference between artwork and movie clips/graphics/buttons in flash. Brush strokes will merge with each other, movie clips won't. As long as you use the line tool you should be fine for this. I would look up how movie clips work.

I am using the line tool when this happens. I cross two lines over, and a new 'handle' puts itself in the middle of where the lines cross. Though maybe this won't happen if I apply the settings you stated earlier.. hmm.

I still think being able to see flaws is a good thing. It makes it far easier to learn, and get angles and everything perfect. I guess most people don't mind a bit of inconsistency, but I've got some OCD issues and I'm obsessed with perfection in my movements O___________O But yeah, this isn't a Pivot vs Flash debate. I was merely pointing out some obstacles which put me off, and I'm glad you cleared a lot of them up (:

I love how this could easily be a description of DD.

Just as clean as Pivot and not much slower or less accurate to animate with.

I'd love if you posted a tutorial on exactly how you did that. This kind of stuff is exactly what people apprehensive about going outside their comfort zone need to know.

I agree. I've tried using the line tool but I can never seem to get it to work the way I feel it's suppose to. A tutorial would be excellent!

I'd be very happy to write something up. I'm no expert, I've just found a system that works for me. Sadly I'm off to the UK tomorrow and I won't have access to my PC again until around the 23rd of April. When I get back (you may need to remind me, haha) I'll write something. :)

@Dead Throne: That's the snapping being left on. Somewhere on the screen, there is a magnet button. It's hard to find as it's small, but it's there in front of you. You can go about turning it off this way though: http://www.recipester.org/images/5/5b/T ... cts_03.png

I've been trying to enhance pivot for a long time. I have a edited and made atleast two pivot videos with Sony Vegas. i know it's not a wonderful program, but it gets the job done. On the DarkdemonChannel, (in my signature) there's an example.

I don't agree, Sony Vegas certainly is a wonderful program! It's a professional video editing software... it'll do what you ask of it and more. I have used Vegas for every video on my YouTube channel. Other software may be superior in similar fields but you'd need seriously experienced hands to be limited by modern versions of Vegas.

Strongly recommend it. (thumbsup)

Sorry, I worded that wrong. I meant, Sony Vegas isn't the BEST program. It's great, but not up to par with adobe AE.

Anyways, I think what Darren is trying to say is, we need more videos like this:

Yeah, exactly. Watching those back also raises another issue: text. Pivot text looks HORRIBLE. I reckon it should be added afterward, with fonts that are actually legible. After effects/premiere etc would be perfect.

'been thinking about this for a while. Didn't have enough time to do it. I've tried making some innovative ideas in pivot, but then I wasn't able to animate or post all of them.

Everyone's been trying to raise up for ranks and shit. Why not lay off the ranks for a while, and animate innovative and creative ideas. I'm bored of seeing animations that are only for ranks, and I haven't seen anything that makes impact to me lately. I kinda take that back. I just saw some cool animations.

Watch some of those good animations or movies, and how they are created and stuff. e.g. Getting to watch a director film a movie really taught me a lot.

I'm seriously wondering why we aren't uploading all those cool flashed anims on one the DD channels?
That is exactly what this community needs

I feel the best way to get the darkdemonchannel running is to make a place where animators can get sound effects, backgrounds, and editing programs, on-site. So they can flash it themselves, and send it to a staff member to be uploaded onto DDchannel.

In finality, we need production like this:

I think big projects/animations by single members that get flashed or edited should be able to find their way onto the DD channel. Much like Fluidanims does it, they put on great animations even by single members of the community.

As a lot of you recently know, Pivot is dying today. Its a good and simple animating program, very useful for those who just started animating. But now, the Pivots are being too "repetitive".

I know that a lot of you disagree with what is said, but if you looked for pivot animations on YouTube after 2009, you will see that Pivot animations have invaded and transformed into DBZ.

Now, most of the pivot animations (animated by those only who are on YouTube) is DBZ, the category is too repetitive. Its always the same thing (movements, powers etc...) We all know that the animator who convinced people animating DBZ, is Jojishi.

Don't think that i am mad at him, but people will NEVER improve by animating DBZ. If they want to do DBZ, animate fullbodies in Flash. Pivot is not made for anime animations.

^ Ok, this is offtopic, but what i said is really serious.

Back on-topic. Flash is beating Pivot right now. We seriously have to do something to revive Pivot.

I've got Sony Vegas one day. But then, Windows told me to restart my laptop. I did. But then, when i was watching my desktop: *poof*. Sony Vegas disappeared :(.

I was very upset of this, my internet is very slow and can't redownload Sony Vegas. It was a very good editing program. Damn Windows Movie Maker. This program makes my animations the shittiest quality ever. On my sig, open the spoiler and go to my YouTube channel. The Pivot video and the Minecraft one was both edited with WMM. The quality is so shitty. That's because of WMM.

Since my internet got faster today. I am going to redownload Sony Vegas on my laptop as soon as i can. ~

And back in 2007-2009 it was all stick figures on crack and random pivot meme's or pivot insanity videos.

The thing is, those videos get people into pivot, creating potential animators. It is better to have people animating something than not animating anything at all and not even knowing the program exists.

Jojishi pretty much started with DBZ and now look where he is, however I do agree we need to start spicing up our animations with sound effects and what not.
