I dont know man i can do some of this but it took some working out to do on my own part
there were some places where it was confusing and hard to understand.
First of all it could be a intro, cause thats good flashers do. You choose!

what does that mean?????

i could quote some more stuff but i wont.
It was kind of like saying " 2+2=4 now you know addition"
Really though this is a tutorial to teach people.

Well, now that this is unlocked, I have a question.
i got my permanent play and stop buttons to work fine, but the one at the beginning doesn't. I tried your code, then the code for the regular play button, and then tried to tweak it as Flash told me so with the error messages. I use Flash MX 2004 (the only trial that worked >.>). here's my current code for it:
Code: Select all
on(release){
gotoAndPlay(2)
}

And I don't get errors with this code, It doesn't work when I press it. Yes, it is a button.

Also, I would clean up the wording in this some. Its difficult to read with the current grammar and formatting (line breaks in random places, images in the middle of text, etc.) You don't need to show us how to add a new layer each time, just the first time is fine. It also needs better explanation in parts:
First of all it could be a intro, cause thats good flashers do. You choose!

And how do you add an Intro? I'm guessing it all goes before the Play frame, but you need to address those things for the stupid people. It would make your tut better, you had an awesome idea but pulled off a little badly :(
If you cleaned it up I think it would be Master List quality, if they take more then Pivot Tutorials.
if you answer my question, thanks, and I'm not insulting your tutorial, I love it, just trying to help you make it better.

RBP:
Maybe try:

on(release){
_root.gotoAndPlay(2)
}

It seems like you're making the button go to the 2nd frame, which won't do anything as that's a mouse hovering over frame. Adding _root tells it to make the main stage, no movieclips, go to and keep playing on the 2nd frame.
