You don't have to be on someone's level to give constructive criticism, obviously - people can still point out flaws and give advice on how to improve it, even if they physically couldn't do it themselves.

I think you're really good at understanding how colours and shadow react with each other, it's what makes you such a strong painter. You really know how to look at a photograph or drawing, and put it on to your own paper. I'm assuming you do trace some of your work though, such as the breaking bad poster, and perhaps the Rango one? I'm not entirely sure on that one. It's obvious because of your poor (in comparison) figure drawing seen on the nude male/guitar player drawings.

I think you should definitely work on figure drawing - it's some of the most basic/helpful forms of art in my opinion. Getting good at drawing human anatomy and musculature helps your flow, line quality, and understanding of almost everything else. I personally also find it very fun to practice.

Regardless, you're a really strong painter - your understanding of how colours work together is definitely your largest strength.

lol no I don't trace stuff. The breaking bad vector is as close to a trace as i'd get but what I did is i first made a sketch and then went back and compared it to the original overlayed on top and made changes so the proportions were closer to the original. The Rango one isn't traced in any way lol
And yeah, I can't draw bodies for shit

Is the guitar player sketch actually bad? I'm going off of this reference

Oh I see, I guess it just seems weird to see you do well at your faces for instance, when your figure drawing is so much different in comparison.

The guitar player wasn't necessarily bad proportion wise, but you could tell it was copied very closely with a bit of a lack of figure drawing knowledge due to the way you handled the form/quality of line. I was mainly focusing on the nude guy when I said that.

I'm not saying you're bad by any means, as a lot of your work is very nice, especially considering your age, I'm just telling you some things that do warrant improvement.

I also realize that those sketches are done digitally, and depending on the quality of your tablet they can turn out a lot worse than you're really capable of.

Yeah I mean as long as I have a reference to work with I can do anything, but once I have to draw something without a reference, like the "nude" guy (nigga that bitch aint nude) I just suck. I understand proportions and what not but I don't really get anatomy and form and all that yet. I just think bodies are confusing to draw in general without a reference.

Seen the paintings already but I guess I'll comment on them.

They're all really nice, my favourites are the outdoor one and the jars/bottles. They're both really spot on, and detail/proportion wise I'd say you did very well. You did a fantastic job with the reflections/transparency in the bottle painting, I know how difficult it can be to find and utilize the right shades/colours to make it look proper.

To be honest you're a wonderful painter, the only advice I can give is to perhaps use more paint. It does look somewhat thin and in some ways it's hard to tell you used acrylic. However, it does sort of a have a certain style to it.

I think painting is what you're the strongest at, possibly because of how good you are at observational drawing, it really transfers over in to painting through your ability to see and choose the proper colours and proportions.

Personally I just started painting this year using acrylic, I've been good at drawing my entire life but never attempted to paint until recently since it was required for class. Might upload some of them soon whenever I get them back. I'd love to see more from you.

Keep at it.

I love the old man, but as I stated before, his head is a bit small compared to his body.
Who is the other guy, exactly?

Brilliant. Very painterly.

I love the use of colour to suggest tones. Very well done.
